OKTA - Unlocking account Symptoms You are not able to login to Windows. Authentication Failed error message is shown on every login attempt. Cause Account is locked after 3 failed login attempts. Solution Accounts are automatically unlocked after 30 minutes. You can unlock your account manually earlier by following this procedure: Click on Reset Password on the Windows login screen. Provide your e-mail address and click Next. Click on Back to sign in. Click on Unlock account? Provide your e-mail address in Username field then click on Select button next to Get a push notification – Okta Verify. Confirm notification on your mobile device. Provide your current password and click on Verify. Your account should be unlocked. Please close the Okta homepage and try to login again.
